Neighbours have slammed the "awful condition" of the pavement in their area of the city, claiming it is becoming a serious hazard.

Folk living in Calthorpe Road, in West Earlham, say that the pathway on one side of the road is causing people to trip on the many uneven concrete slabs.

But in a strange twist, Norfolk County Council have only repaired one side of the street, leaving the other cracked and raised.

"They've been repaired two or three times but it's still in an awful condition.

"The concrete slabs are uneven and there's grass growing up out of them all which is making it a hazard.

"I've had a trip before - thankfully I didn't go over entirely but it could have been worse - I can imagine many people have been hurt because of the condition of the path.

"The pathway is dangerous, especially at night or if it's rained - it gets horrible and slippery.

"Now when I go out I have to be really careful.

"The worst part is the other side of the road has been sorted but not this side for some reason."
