A new shoe shop which designs all of its footwear in Britain has opened its doors in Norwich.

Meaning "fashion in leather", Moda in Pelle makes everything from sandals and trainers to heels and pumps.

Located on the lower ground floor in Chantry Place, the shoe shop has taken on the unit formerly occupied by Menkind which is now looking for a new store.

The Norwich store is Moda in Pelle's first branch in the region, with the next closest shops in London and Grantham.

Jacob Snell, head of retail at Moda in Pelle, said: “We’re really excited to be opening our new concept store at Chantry Place.

"We believe it will be a very special place to shop for our customers.

"Our shoes are designed with passion and crafted without compromise.

Moda in Pelle, which was founded almost 50 years ago, designs all of its shoes in Britain.

All customers who purchase an item between now and June 14 will receive a 10pc  bounce-back voucher and will be entered into a competition to win a year’s supply of shoes.

Paul McCarthy, general manager of Chantry Place, added: “It is fantastic to welcome another great brand and give our customers even more choice when shopping with us.

"We are confident that Moda in Pelle will be popular with our visitors.

This opening comes as the shopping centre awaits the arrival of Urban Outfitters later this month.

Moda in Pelle is now open between 9am and 6pm from Wednesday to Saturday and from 10am to 4.30pm on Sunday.
