A tech store in Norwich's Chantry Place shopping centre has closed ahead of the arrival of a "new and exciting retailer".

Menkind, which is located opposite the Ann Summers and Lush stores, was seen being emptied by staff on Friday afternoon with posters up announcing its closure.

The shop has sold gadgets and gifts in Chantry Place for 13 years prior to its closure.

Bosses at the mall said the unit would be filled by a new tenant by early summer.

Paul McCarthy, general manager at Chantry Place, said: “We continue to receive lots of interest from incredible brands to trade at Chantry Place.

"While Menkind has closed, we have a new and exciting retailer moving into the unit very soon with an opening planned for early summer.

"It is an exciting time for us with Urban Outfitters also set to join our line-up soon.”

In a statement on social media, Menkind thanked its Norwich customers, with the sign on its door telling them their nearest store was in Peterborough.
