An abandoned caravan that was left dumped on the outskirts of the city has finally been removed.

Folk living in South Hill Road, Thorpe St Andrew reported that a caravan had been dumped back in April.

Though the caravan was initially being lived in, people began to suspect that the man they saw living in it had moved on.

After a number of complaints, Broadland District Council issued a notice warning the owner that if it wasn't removed it would be towed away.

The caravan was then moved just a little further up the road - but neighbours complained this was worse and had caused even more of an obstruction.

And with the eyesore being in situ for more than a month, folk were starting to think that the caravan would remain on their street.

But now Broadland District Council has confirmed the caravan was removed on Thursday.

It will now be stored on council premises for an undisclosed amount of time in order to allow the owner to take possession.
