Folk living near an abandoned caravan have been left fuming after it was moved to an even WORSE position.

It was reported that the caravan had been dumped in South Hill Road in Thorpe St Andrew for a number of weeks back in April.

Many people were complaining so Broadland District Council issued a notice warning the owner that if it wasn't moved it would be towed away.

Though the caravan was initially being lived in, people began to suspect that the man they saw living in it had moved on.

Following the notice it was moved – but neighbours are still unhappy as it has moved just a little further up the road, with many saying it is now causing more of an obstruction.

Someone living in South Hill Road, who wishes to remain anonymous, said: “The caravan was moved, but it is still on the same road.

“Look at it, it is now a huge health and safety issue for disabled, visually impaired folk and pushchairs.”

The caravan in its new position appears to have been moved to be on the footpath entirely, with no one sure who put it there, or how they moved it.

But with the eyesore being in situ for more than a month, neighbours are starting to think that the caravan will remain on their street.

A Broadland District Council spokesman said: “The council has to be sure that it is acting within its legal powers before we take action.

“Notice has been served and messages have been left asking the owner to move the caravan.

“In the absence of any action by the owner, enforcement action has been taken to ensure the caravan is removed as soon as possible.”
