A new Greek takeaway has opened in the heart of the Golden Triangle and the owners previously ran a successful street food trailer.

Greek Actually has launched at 137 Unthank Road, in the former home of Mo's Peri Peri, and there is also some indoor and outdoor seating.

Couple Georgios Michailidis and Vicky Stogianni have teamed up with chef Fotis Emenu to start the new business.

The authentic menu includes platters, salads, falafel and souvlaki wraps, with fillings such as chicken, pork or halloumi.

Mr Michailidis and Mrs Stogianni are from the Greek city of Larissa and they have lived in England for the last decade.

The pair previously ran the Great Gyros Canteen trailer, which was based outside Homebase at Sprowston Retail Park in Roundtree Way.

Due to health reasons, they sold the mobile business last spring and it now has a new owner.

"Customers kept saying that we should be nearer the city centre and to get a restaurant.

"After we left last April, this was still in the back of our minds and then we saw this place available and we had heard good things about Unthank Road."

The Greek Actually menu features all the favourites from the trailer and, with the extra space, they are planning to offer new dishes in the future such as moussaka.

At the moment, customers can either eat in or get a takeaway in person, but they will soon be launching home delivery through Just Eat.

Mr Michailidis added: "We put a lot of love into what we do and you can see it on the plate."

The opening times are 12noon-10pm Tuesday to Thursday, 12noon-11pm Friday and Saturday and 12noon-9pm on Sundays (closed Mondays).
