A man in his 60s has died after being pulled from the River Wensum in Norwich on Friday.
The emergency services were called to reports of a concern for safety at 11.19am after a man was seen in the river along Riverside Road, near to the Compleat Angler pub.
An eyewitness in the area saw what he thought was a dark blue coat floating down the river before a firefighter jumped in and pulled a man out.
Police, fire and ambulance crews attended and the man was treated by paramedics at the scene, with cordons put in place.

Three fire crews from Carrow, Sprowston and North Earlham worked as part of a specialist water rescue team to pull the man out.
He was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and has since died.
The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be passed to the coroner.
