Children living in a city suburb who were disappointed not be able to use a play park in their area are delighted as a developer announced that the grand opening is in reach.

Originally families living in the new Taursham Park development in Taverham were hopeful that they would get to use the park throughout the summer holidays.

Unfortunately the holidays came and went with no sign of the play park being open.

Now, developers Abel Homes have shared that their work and checks have now been completed.

Paul LeGrice, managing director of Abel Homes, said: “We are pleased to be able to report that the RoSPA health and safety inspection of the playground at Taverham has now taken place.

“That means that as soon as the playground is transferred to Taverham Parish Council, it can open.

“That transfer is now taking place and is in the hands of the solicitors.

“We are hopeful that the playground will open in the next three or four weeks, and very much look forward to seeing it made available for local people to use.”
