A mum-to-be was left perplexed after realising that her baby shower presents were missing - sparking a frantic search with a dose of disbelief.

Jo Cartledge-Lawn had her close friends and family turn up to throw her a baby shower on Sunday (August 20), at Sir George Morse Park, in Thorpe St Andrew.

But after asking her friends to put the presents in her silver Hyundai at the end of the day, she soon found out they were unknowingly left in someone else's car instead.

Sarah Spooner, Jo's best friend, attended the shower and said: "We had a nice time.

"Everyone arrived, we put the presents on the table and Jo's mum and auntie even wrote a nice song for her.

"At the end of the shower however Jo gave her car keys to a friend of hers and asked for the presents - about 15 in total - to be put into the back of her car.

"However Jo said when she got back to her parents' house for a cup of tea, she went to get the presents out so she could open them, and they weren't there.

"Turns out they'd be put into the wrong silver Hyundai and someone had unwillingly driven off with the gifts!"

After the group posted on social media hoping the owner of the other car saw the mistake, the presents were returned to The Little Park Cafe located inside the grounds of the Laundry Lane park, the next day.

Sarah added: "Thankfully someone returned the presents quickly.

"Jo's friend, who put the presents in the wrong car originally, felt terrible so it's nice that the person has been kind enough to bring them back."
