Anti-coronation posters appeared in Norwich on Thursday, with the city divided over this weekend's grand celebrations.

One of these posters has appeared at a bus stop in Unthank Road reading "pay for your own pompous pageantry #notmyking."

The coronation of King Charles III will be broadcast live from Westminster Abbey on Saturday, with events planned across Norfolk.

While many people are looking forward to barbecues and street parties over the bank holiday weekend, others are not so happy.

With the cost of living crisis causing hardship across the UK, there is criticism that the event should not be publicly funded.

Some say it is in bad taste to have such grandeur when people are struggling to afford food and bills.

However, others say it is good for business, with pubs expecting a big boost over the weekend as punters toast to the new king.

The estimated cost is widely reported to be between £50-100m, though it is rumoured that it will be "slimmed down" due to the economic situation.
