Signs have gone up and work is under way in preparation for a new foodie destination in the city.

My Makan, situated above a bike shop in Westlegate, will give visitors a taste of Malaysia when it opens its doors soon.

The team behind the new opening are Mathew Wilcox, who has lived in Norwich since 2018, and his two business partners Imran Abidin and Turki Bin Afif, who are based in Saudi Arabia.

Signs have been erected above the door and either side of the building this week.

The restaurant will offer authentic Malaysian food such as satay and spicy noodle dish laksa along with dishes from Indonesian cuisine.

My Makan is one of a number of new restaurants that have or are soon to open in the city.

With the food halls at Yalm and Castle Social, fine dining at Boston House and a new cafe, The Aslan in Red lion Street, this part of Norwich continues to grow as a foodie destination.
