Plans have been revealed for the inside of a long-established city jewellery shop as an extensive revamp continues.

Winsor Bishop first opened its doors in London Street in 1834.

Now, 187 years later and following a £2m purchase in 2021, the shop has rebranded as Prestons Norwich and released further plans for the shop's interior.

Now that a planning application has been approved by Norwich City Council, the spiral staircase, originally located in the back left corner of the grade II listed building, will be moved to the centre of the shop.

Much of the shop's walls will be covered in wood panelling which will hide secret doors.

The jewellers will also be opening a Rolex Authorised Service Centre on the second floor.

Karl Massey, managing director of Prestons, said: "This process has not been change for change's sake, it's been a journey undertaken with care due to the listed status of the premises.

"The refurbishment and refitted areas are designed to last for many years."

Work on the building is set to be finished by this summer.
