A cyclist was taken to hospital after being hit by a car on one of the roundabouts on the Broadland Northway.

It happened on the roundabout where the road, previously known as the Northern Distributor Road, meets Drayton Lane, near Horsford, at about 7pm on Monday night.

Police said the crash involved the driver of a blue Mercedes and the cyclist.

The cyclist, a man believed to be in his 30s, was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University hospital by the East of England Ambulance Service.

The crash left part of the roundabout blocked off, but it was fully re-opened by 7.40pm.

The safety of the roundabouts on the £205m road has recently come under the spotlight.
