Tully (May 4) — Charlize Theron stars as struggling mother who finds salvation in the most unlikely place in razor-sharp comedy from the makers of Juno and Young Adult.

The Strangers: Prey at Night (May 4) — An unsuspecting family staying at a secluded mobile home park for the night are stalked and then hunted by masked psychopaths in horror sequel.

I Feel Pretty (May 4) — Amy Schumer plays a body-conscious New Yorker who realises that beauty comes from within in the empowerment comedy.

Lean on Pete (May 4) — A teen living with his single father finds work caring for an aging racehorse named Lean On Pete in first American film from 45 Years director Andrew Haigh.

Life of the Party (May 11) — Melissa McCarthy enrols at the same college as her daughter in the cross-generational comedy.

Entebbe (May 11) — Israeli forces prepare to storm an airport building to rescue hostages in the thriller based on a real-life 1976 counter-terrorist hostage-rescue operation.

Breaking In (May 11) — Thriller with Gabrielle Union as a mother who will stop at nothing to rescue her two children being held hostage in a house designed with impenetrable security.

Anon (May 11) — Clive Owen plays a futuristic police officer who clashes with a hacker (Amanda Seyfried), who is threatening to expose the government in sci-fi crime drama.

Sherlock Gnomes (May 11) — The world’s greatest sleuth (voiced by Johnny Depp) helps Gnomeo (James McAvoy) and Juliet (Emily Blunt) to solve a mystery in computer-animated adventure.

Revenge (May 11) — The victim of a brutal assault turns the tables on her attackers in this gruesome French revenge thriller.

That Good Night (May 11) — John Hurt gives his final big screen performance as an aging writer who is terminally ill and tries to reconcile with his son before he dies in Eric Styles’ play adaptation.

Deadpool 2 (May 15) — Ryan Reynolds’ wisecracking foul-mouthed superhero returns to battle the evil and powerful Cable and other bad guys to save a boy’s life in sequel to what was a record breaking surprise hit.

Jeune Femme (May 18) — After being left by an artist with whom she shared her life for 10 years, newly single care-free Paula throws off the shackles to rediscover herself in Paris in French drama.

Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 24) — Back aboard the Millennium Falcon for another journey to a galaxy far, far away in this latest Satr Wars spin-off centred on the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy (and future co-pilot Chewbacca).

On Chesil Beach (May 25) — Adaptation of Ian McEwan’s novel set in 1962 England, where a young couple find their idyllic romance colliding with issues of sexual freedom and societal pressure.

Edie (May 25) — British drama with Sheila Hancock as a woman who embarks on a trip to fulfill her longtime dream of climbing a mountain in the Scottish Highlands after her controlling husband dies.

The Breadwinner (May 25) — Animated drama from the creators of Song of the Sea, based on the best-selling novel by Deborah Ellis about an Afghan girl whose father is imprisoned by the Taliban.

The Little Vampire (May 25) — Animated familty film centred on Rudolph, a 13-year-old vampire, whose clan is threatened by a notorious vampire hunter.
