Preparations are hotting up and tickets selling fast ahead of a new festival that will bring performance into a space overlooked by Norwich Cathedral.
With three shows already sold out, The Hostry Festival will see a range of arts and theatrical pieces coming to The Hostry in just over a week’s time.
Stash Kirkbride, co-organiser for the festival, said everyone had been working hard in the run up to the opening night.
”Rehearsals are going very well and I’m amazed at how people are able to work all day and then come along and work into the night too. I’m very proud of the whole team.”
Starting on Friday, October 21 and running through to October 30 the festival will feature five central performances of romantic comedy The Rainmaker, as well as shows from musicians The Chroma Trio and The Brook Street Band. Mr Kirkbride said he was looking forward to all the performances but highlighted Father & Son: Son and Father, in which former star of The Bill Peter Ellis carries out a rehearsed reading discussing God with his actual son Chris. And with tickets costing £10, he also added that he was keen to make the event as inclusive as possible.
He said: “I wanted to make it accessible as possible and theatre is often well overpriced but I think in this day and age it’s more important than ever to offer good value for money.”
