Holly's colourful design featuring Norwich Castle and the city's market impressed the judges and also proved popular in our online reader poll which helped with the final decision.

The talented youngster's idea will now be used as part of the final design which will be painted on the EDP and Evening News GoGoHare by artist Paul Jackson. The hare will be one of 50 sculptures decorating Norwich next summer for the GoGoHares art trail being organised by children's charity Break and Wild in Art, and there will be a further 15 moongazer hare sculptures dotted around the wider county.

Holly, who lives in Lyng with her parents Donna and Kevin and 12-year-old brother Kian, said she was amazed and excited to win our competition which had several hundred entries.

'It's awesome,' the Lyng Church of England Primary School pupil said, adding that hares and rabbits are her favourite animals.

About the inspiration for her design, she said: 'I was reading the history of Norwich in one of my books and then I saw a picture of the castle and that made me think of the market as well.'

Paul Jackson, 64, who is based in Cromer and designed the GoGoDragons! Wish You Were Here and The Mother Of Dragons, said he was really impressed by Holly's design and looking forward to starting work on the EDP and Evening News GoGoHare. He said: 'One of the things about Holly's design is that she has really shown the ability to think in the round which is really important. She has not just done straight lines, she has thought in 3D which is why it looks so good, and there are pathways to follow which makes it very interesting.'

Mr Jackson said he thought it would be a nice idea to put Holly in the artwork. He said: 'She could be outside the castle drawing her idea, on the riverside, walking through the market. She may be difficult to find in some places so you will have to really look to find her. It will be like a trail within the sculpture.'

Four runners-up in our competition have each won a GoGo figurine. In no particular order, the runners-up were: Tim Linstead, from Norwich; Adele Pitelen, from Brooke; Angela Cossey, from Hellesdon; and Amelia Roughton, from Caister. The GoGoHares trail will run from June 24 to September 8 2018. Visit www.gogohares.co.uk
