Nothing But Thieves played a cracking headline show at the The Nick Rayns LCR, UEA in Norwich last night [November 14].

Blackpool four-piece Darlia opened up the night with a full packed 30 minute supporting set.

It was a bit slow kicking off with little to no interaction with the crowd until the fourth/fifth song in. Once they had started to engage more, the crowd picked up and the energy began to lift in the room.

Opening a show will always come with its difficulties, but Darlia, once they got going, did a great job of warming the crowd for the headline act.

Even before Nothing But Thieves arrived on stage, the air was filled with electricity as fans eagerly awaited the arrival of Southampton-on-Sea five-piece.

With the release of their second album, Broken Machine, on September 8, there were lots of fans looking forward to hearing their new music live for the first time.

‘I’m Not Made by Design’ was the opening track for the night. This atmospheric, punchy track was a perfect song to start the show with and had the crowd instantly moving.

This led effortlessly into ‘Live Like Animals’, another track from their second album.

They performed a selection of tracks from both their debut and current record, switching it seamlessly between up tempo songs and the slower ones which saw frontman Conor Mason playing some acoustic guitar.

Conor has such an impressive vocal range which he executed flawlessly throughout their entire set whilst bringing high levels of energy and performance to the stage.

The crowd were lapping it up right from the start, with fans jumping up and down to new and old hits, and screaming along to their favourite songs.

All in all, the night was filled with melodic guitar riffs, powerful vocals and catchy lyrics with an impressive light show to match.
