Hare All About It is the latest sculpture to be revealed for the GoGoHares trail that is being brought to Norwich and Norfolk by children's charity Break - which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year - and Wild in Art.

The bright yellow character is being created by Norwich's talking newspaper Chatterbox and he is being decorated in a coat made out of a collage of Norwich Evening News articles. A team of volunteers led by community arts organisation ERM CIC has been working on the sculpture in The Forum all this week.

Tim Edwards, a sound recordist for Chatterbox and part of ERM CIC, said: 'Chatterbox records radio programmes specifically for visually impaired people to keep them in touch with their area and we are celebrating 40 years this year. Our Chatterbox logo is a smiley yellow face with black glasses so we have made our hare bright yellow too, and he has a jacket made from Evening News newspaper articles because that is where we get lots of our news.

'We are proud to support Break in its 50th anniversary and we are looking forward to the trail.'

He added he hoped the Chatterbox GoGoHare would help spread the word further about the free talking newspaper service which is run entirely by volunteers and recently celebrated its 2,000th edition.

Chatterbox, based at Petersen House, in King Street, was first established in 1978. The main audio publication since 1979 has been weekly news taken from the Norwich Evening News and Eastern Daily Press.

A quarterly magazine of local live interviews was added in 1998, and in 2013 a further magazine was added taking articles from EDP Norfolk magazine. All early recordings were produced on cassette tapes and Chatterbox always provided tape players to make the whole service entirely free.

Today, Chatterbox produces recordings using computer memory sticks and equips all listeners with compatible players.

Chatterbox's hare is one of 50 sculptures that will be on display in Norwich during the GoGoHares trail from June 24 to September 8 and there will also be more hares on display in the wider county.
