A Great British Bake Off contestant and top chefs from across the county are heading to the Norfolk Showground for Porkstock 2018.
The annual celebration of local food, drink and entertainment is now in its 15th year and is a free family event in the day and an over-18s ticketed party in the evening.
The event is organised by a team of volunteers and all the profits go to children’s bereavement charity Nelson’s Journey.
When is it?
Porkstock 2018 takes place on Saturday October 13 from 10am to 5pm with the evening knees-up from 7pm until midnight.
What can I expect?
The festival was launched 15 years ago by a group of old friends getting together for an annual barbecue with lots of great meat and beer.
In 2014 it was made into a public event and during the day is a free family festival for food and music lovers of all ages.
From handmade fudge to gin, Norfolk producers will be sharing their love of great food and their commitment to great ingredients.
The cookery stage line up includes: Richard Hughes, chef director of the Assembly House, Roger Hickman, chef proprietor of Roger Hickman’s Restaurant, Richard Benedict, chef proprietor of Benedicts, Candi Robertson, of Candi’s Chutney and Great British Bake Off contestant Kate Barmby.

Daytime visitors to Porkstock will also be able to enjoy a fantastic selection of street food stalls, a real ale and Prosecco bar, lots of live music, a sausage eating contest, kids’ games and activities and lots of family fun.
The evening knees-up kicks off at 7pm and music takes over from food as the main attraction with headline act Cut Capers.
Ben Handford, one of the founders of Porkstock, said: “Hailing from Bristol, the band performs an explosive mix of hip hop and swing and are favourites on the UK and Europe festival scene.
“They’re guaranteed to get everyone dancing. We also have local favourites Agent Orange on stage, who’ll be warming everyone up with some great covers and party tunes.”
How can I get tickets?
The daytime event is free and you can purchase tickets to the evening event on the Porkstock website for £20.
For the third year in a row, all profits from Porkstock will be donated to Nelson’s Journey, with event organisers hoping to exceed the £10,173 raised in 2017.
Key sponsors of Porkstock 2018 are Adnams, Cranswick Country Foods, Wayland Farms, and Loveday & Partners. They are joined by Hatch Brenner Solicitors and Breakwater IT.
