A Norfolk antiques valuer-turned-novelist is celebrating the launch of his first book.

Nicholas Bundock's new novel is called The Mirror Shop and it tells the tale of a mirror dealer who finds himself transported into a dark world of risk and romance. Norfolk plays a part in the story as Mr Bundock sets the shop in an imaginary Norfolk town, and the book's characters also travel to Corsica and rural Ireland.

Mr Bundock, who lives in Reepham, said: 'It's a very gentle romantic thriller which touches the issues of love, therapy and dealing both with objects and with people.'

He added: 'It is a first novel, partly inspired by a holiday in the south of France some years ago. But it begins and ends in Norfolk where I have lived for most of my life.'

The Mirror Shop, published by Amsterdam Publishers, costs £9.95 in paperback and is available at The Book Hive in Norwich, Holt Bookshop, Number 21 in Reepham and online via Amazon and Kindle. Visit www.nicholasbundock.com
