After a stunning week of circus, theatre, dance, music and art, the Norfolk and Norwich Festival is gearing up for the biggest street party of the year this weekend.

Tomorrow and Sunday will see the Festival Gardens full of families joining the fun, with all sorts of acts on hand to keep the crowds entertained.

Throughout the weekend, festival-goers can expect to see a man with a suitcase full of invisible bees, a misunderstood lovable misfit doing his best to look after a rather challenging baby, and two incompetent undertakers taking a coffin on a sentimental journey.

Rock-a-Hula will be entertaining with a mix of music and hula hoop performance, and Radio Barkas and Miniscule of Sound will also be providing music.

At 3pm in the Spiegeltent tomorrow the Family Variety Show will be entertaining with cheeky comedy, street theatre and circus antics, and in the evening at 7.30pm, the darker side of circus acrobatics will be explored by Les 7 Doigts de la Main with their show La Vie.

El Labyrint, a puzzle-filled labyrinth for children and adults, and Theatre Froe Froe's merry-go-round will be at the Gardens all weekend and through the rest of the Festival, while actors on wires will be thrilling audiences outside Norwich Cathedral with their high-flying performances.

Norwich's smallest suburb Home Sweet Home will also be built this weekend, with everyone in Norwich invited to come to Blackfriars Hall and take part in constructing their cardboard city.

Flat-pack cardboard houses are available for free, with charges from 1 for upgrades, houseboats and businesses, and craft materials will be available for people to decorate their creations.

A cardboard River Wensum, City Hall and castle will already be in place, but the rest of the city will be created by the people who come along - including building offices for the Evening News, which is sponsoring the show.

Young presenters trained by Future Radio will be running a radio station throughout the event, and councillors will be overseeing the city's creation and settling planning disputes.

The Festival Garden Party is in Chapelfield Gardens from 11am to 5pm tomorrow and Sunday. Entry into the Gardens is free, but ticket prices and availability for some events may vary.

Home Sweet Home is at Blackfriars Hall from 11am to 7pm tomorrow, Sunday and Monday. A small house and plot of land are free, and you can visit your home as many times as you want.
