A concert film of the Arctic Monkeys is set to get the big screen treatment in Norwich as part of a one day only national event. Arctic Monkeys at the Apollo will be screened in a one-off at a select number of cinemas around the country on October 14, including Norwich's Cinema City.

The 76-minute film was recorded at the Manchester Apollo and features the Sheffield band playing a full set in the last show on their acclaimed 2007 world tour, as well as backstage footage.

It was directed by The Mighty Boosh and The IT Crowd actor Richard Ayoade, who has also directed music videos for Vampire Weekend.

The Monkeys are no strangers to the cinematic realm, taking the title of their debut album Whatever People Say That's What I'm Not from the mouth of Albert Finney's character in Saturday Night and Sunday Morning as well as infamously dressing up all Wizard of Oz for the 2007 Brit Awards.

The one night only screening will feature will be proceeded by an exclusive, personal introduction to the film by the band, also filmed by Ayoade.

The film, which will be released as a DVD on November 3, itself will be shown in high definition with surround sound guaranteeing that fans feel close to the on-stage footage.

Tickets for the Norwich screening will be available from 9am on Monday, September 22.
