Summer means trips to the coast and time it right and you could enjoy some seaside samba spirit with a number of towns hosting their own carnival days.
Gorleston Clifftop Festival
Marine Parade, July 30-31
Air displays, a funfair, fireworks plus music and dancing all form part of the two-day Gorleston Clifftop Festival Weekend. Returning for its 15th year, it includes everything from cabaret to music, craft stalls to strong-man demonstrations. The Sunday Gala Day takes place along the length of the cliffs, featuring aerobatic displays, children's entertainment, live music and funfair rides. A grand firework display rounds things off.

Wells-next-the-Sea Carnival
July 30-August 7
Floats, fancy-dress, sandcastle competition and the crowning of the Carnival Queen, all takes place as part of the Wells-next-the-Sea carnival. This year the week-long series of events includes the popular raft race, plus the Wells Fun Run and a Carnival's Got Talent competition. The week reaches a climax on August 6 with a Carnival Day featuring floats, fancy-dress, pull-and push-along vehicles and much more. A full list of events can be found on the website.

Sheringham Carnival
July 30-August 7
An army of volunteers come together to produce the family fun Sheringham Carnival, which has now been running for several years and each year is getting bigger and better. The carnival includes a week-long series of events with plenty of entertainment for all the family. The Fun Day on August 6 includes plenty of entertainment before things conclude on August 7 with the main Carnival Parade, children's events as well as a firework display at Cookies Field. Cromer Carnival
August 13-August 19
Cromer's carnival celebrations are even longer and more impressive this year as the events mark its 42nd anniversary. Events continue over two weeks from August 1 of children's activities and events, before the carnival week proper and the fantastic Cromer Carnival Day itself on August 17. A highlight will again be the flyover by the Red Arrows at 11.30pm. The grand parade windings its way through the town from 7pm. The Carnival Arena at Runton Road includes a packed programme. There will also be lots and lots of evening marquee events including danc-ing, live music plus an illuminated parade on August 19.
