Time to get real on climate change as Norwich Airport operators announce expansion plans

Climate change is one of the greatest threats facing the planet and the future of mankind. Yet it is a low priority for Norfolk’s political and business leaders who are actively taking the county in the completely wrong direction and locking us into a carbon intensive future.

In and around Norwich, they are carelessly building, concreting, tarmacing and paving over vast swathes. Now, Norwich Airport operators want to extend the runway and treble passenger numbers.

We need a new moniker for Norfolk. Let’s drop “Norfolk do different” and “Normal for Norfolk” and adopt instead “Norfolk Get Real” and work to drastically reduce our county’s greenhouse gas emissions.
