I'm not surprised that pigeons are flocking into Norwich Market and nor am I surprised at the stallholder, Richard Lovett, saying that they are driving customers away.

Pigeons are in it for the food and this is the nature of birds.

Last year we had an absolute nuisance of pigeons and to leave a door open, was an invitation to walk in.

A pigeon even came in, walked up the hall and ended up trapped in a bedroom.

It was a terrifying job to get it out without damage being done. This year there’s been a noticeable low count of pigeons.

I’ve left off feeding garden birds large quantities of food and it’s little and often (while no pigeons are about).

There’s a lot of truth in the saying of having an appetite like a bird. All birds are in it for the food. (Tea stalls must be very attractive.)
