The Magdalen Street Festival plays a huge part in this lively city, which has been celebrated since 2010, enjoyed by families, friends and colleagues across Norfolk (and perhaps different parts of the country), all mingling together to enjoy things such as music, art, history and food (hot dogs) and a banter.

It comes as a shock for me, and will be a blow for hundreds of traders, to hear that this year's festival has been postponed due to maintenance work.

However, in previous years I noted that not enough publicity was given (in advance) to promote this event, particularly in the press, social media, etc. I just noticed the odd poster under the flyover. It seemed it was just promoted by word of mouth.

All I saw was a Green Party stand, the music was tucked away under the flyover and no food stalls, apart from the regular hot dog stall located under the flyover.
