Motorists are being threatened with a £20 fine if they do not turn off their car engines in certain areas of the city.

This is surely discrimination by Norwich City Council against drivers in certain areas of the city and apparently no action being taken in others, such as the Inner Link Road and Grapes Hill in particular.

More: City centre drivers who idle engines while stopped may face £20 finesMaybe this is because these are areas where the council has failed to provide an adequate traffic flow and the increased pollution is their fault.

Then we have the increasing number of traffic calming measures, recognised nationally as causing increased pollution. I thought I understood the government was considering the removal of such and was going to stand the cost but as yet nothing has happened and Norwich City Council is imposing yet further pollution on us by carrying out yet more unnecessary schemes and wasting yet more money.

It is high time our councillors took a good hard look at pollution and started enforcing the present regulations before embarking on more petty restrictions and at what cost?
