Norwich Trafford kept on course for the treble by defeating Premier Division side Woodbridge Town by two clear goals in the League Cup final at Diss Town FC. Two second-half strikes from Rob Eglington and Chris Hitchings saw them home. Having already won the inaugural Norfolk County FA Veterans Cup they now take on Costessey on Friday night in Division One.
A win would assure them of the title but realistically a point would be sufficient with two games in hand and a superior goal difference over their opponents who are guaranteed the runners-up spot.
Basement club Lowestoft Railway & Corton in the Premier Division pulled off a surprise by beating Bungay Town 2-1 to lift themselves off the bottom. Scorers were Alan Prescott and an og for the seasiders with Gary Love replying for the visitors.
First Division Acle Rangers chalked up their first win in their final fixture - beating Whitton Utd by 4-0 at Bridewell Lane. On target were Tom Armes with a double and one each from David Lake and a Michael Randall penalty.
Wymondham College got a deserved point in their 2-2 draw at Division Two (West) champions Horsford. Andy Boorman and Simon Greer netted for the visitors with ex-Torquay striker Stuart Herd notching yet another double for the hosts. With 25 to his name he is virtually assured of taking home the league's leading goalscorer trophy.
Aylsham Black Boys took the Division Three (North) title by a slender one point margin over Watton Utd following their 2-0 success over Swaffham.
Marksmen were leading scorer James Nichols (on 15) with a penalty and ex-City striker Greg Shepherd. Watton beat Rocklands by three clear goals to finish second with Trevor Brown (leading Division scorer on 20), Wayne Stebbings and Rob Walker on the scoresheet.
