Floral print is a simple way to update your home for summer - and this year it is all about making a statement says Emma Harrowing.

Summer’s floral interior trend doesn’t have to mean a room completely decked out with clashes of print and colour. You can get the look simply by adding an accent of floral print to a room such as a floral blind or a floral print chair.

It’s a look that will quickly give a room in your house an update for summer. There are many different floral printed items available in the shops in Norwich from traditional flower patterns to contemporary arty florals so you can choose the style that suits your home.

The classic way of updating a room with a statement colour or pattern is to hang wallpaper on the main wall of a room. Choose a floral wallpaper with colours that are already in your room so that your sofa, cushions and curtains work well with your new look.

If the thought of getting out the wallpaper paste and brushes sounds too much like hard work why not buy a few floral patterned accessories such as vases, crockery, framed paintings or prints or even buy freshly cut flowers to bring a touch of summer to your home.

You can even update an old sofa with floral print cushions that either match or mix up the floral prints and colours for a small scale take on this season’s trend for clashing. Now that will make a statement.
