Is it too much to ask for some passion and fight to be shown at Derby today?

We cannot afford to wait for another individual defensive mistake, before we take the game to our opponents. Attack from the first whistle. I've got everything crossed that the players will show more desire than ever before; show us supporters that it was worth spending our hard earned cash, getting on that smelly old coach to back them across the country.

I'm really fed up of dissecting the latest Norwich City loss week in, week out. It saddens me that I can't really remember the last time I had that yellow and green feel-good factor this season, entering the turnstiles at Carrow Road. Confidently chatting to the chaps at the bar how we'd win the game, who'd score first for City... I'm sure I'm not the only supporter that's now far more nervous than excited pre-match.

Even for the eternal optimist, it's extremely difficult to see how this predictable City side will launch themselves out of the negative spiral they see themselves stuck in.

The disappointing thing is even if City do win against Derby today, it feels like the tide has turned. It will more than likely be a 'paper over the cracks' situation.

Since the QPR game, there's certainly been a shift in attitude. The polls have swung against Alex Neil even more. The majority of fans are getting close; or if not, already at boiling point. It's seems that a large proportion of the Carrow Road faithful now want to see a new manager at the helm.

But if City continue to lose games in the run up to Christmas, (and especially in the manner they are doing so) things could get nasty. Despite their backing of Alex Neil at the AGM earlier this week, the board might be forced to make to make a managerial change to inspire this set of players to promotion.

The fluffy answers at the Norwich City AGM circus certainly caused an uproar amongst city fans on social media. Just what we needed to rally together...

However, there were positives I noted and was particularly pleased with – Jacob Murphy signing a new deal and now that Jez Moxey is CEO, safe standing finally being considered to improve the atmosphere. Also, whether you liked the answer or not, Alex Neil was very honest when saying he would choose other strikers over Kyle Lafferty. We all know as clear as day where he stands now. That was needed.

As January looms closer, there's bound to be a massive squad selling spree. Fingers crossed much needed reinforcements come in too. Ricky Martin will lead the charge in that department, he'll be a very busy man.

Personally, I'm absolutely desperate for Alex Neil to turn this around. I don't want his Wembley glory to be a one season wonder. I just wish his edge, authority and passion would rub off on our players.

It's time for some self-talk! Here's to the three points away at Derby today.

Just two things: passion and fight.

On The Ball, City!
