A Norfolk school has won an award in a prestigious inter-schools horse-riding event.

The Langley School team for the Woodbridge Schools Inter-Schools one day event consisted of Ellie Hirst, Emily Shiach, Colette Armitage, and Georgina Kidner, who came home triumphant after winning the 2, 9 class, which had of more than 100 competitors and 27 teams.

The school has been a regular competitor in the event for the past four years, and last year won the inter-schools hunter trial.

As well as the team win, Ellie Hirst came sixth in section A, ending on her dressage score of 37.1. Georgina Kidner came home fifth in section B, on her horse Wimble. Emily Shiach came third with an outstanding dressage score of 21.8 in section D on her horse Touch of Frost, narrowly missing out on top honours by rolling a pole in the showjumping, and Colette Armitage, riding her own horse Woodspring, took the honours by winning section C, ending on her dressage score of 26.7.

Also riding her second horse, Mr O' Mally, Colette took second place in Section D, with a superb dressage score of 21.1. Georgina Kidner, also competing as an individual, riding Patch, took seventh place in the last class.

With the lovely weather and the great atmosphere, the event was enjoyed by everyone.
