This July and August Cinema City returns to the glorious Plantation Gardens for the third time to bring some superb cinematic treats to 1,200 people over two four-day weekends, with something to tempt all film tastes we're sure you won't want to miss out on what has become one of the highlights of our year.

The Plantation Garden is a Grade II English Heritage registered garden on Earlham Road. It comprises nearly three acres and its features include a Gothic fountain, flower beds, lawns, an Italianate terrace, 'Medieval' wall, summer-house, woodland walkways and a rustic bridge. It is an idiosyncratic garden, a haven of peace and tranquillity and a glimpse into a bygone age.

Between July 20-23 we're screening four great titles, Alien, Ghostbusters, Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie and Grease. Alien will deliver thrill and chills, leaving you wondering exactly just what that shadow on the wall is or the whether the rustle in the bushes is something a little more sinister!

Ghostbusters promises a great mix of 80's nostalgia along with the comedic greatness of leads Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd in a film which only gets better with age!

Ab Fab will be a fun Saturday night filled with high fashion, high comedy and plenty of high jinks, rounding the weekend off the only way we know how with a great big singalong…Grease, it is definitely the word and the ones we hope to hear you all singing along with by the end.

We're actively promoting dressing up, especially for Ghostbuster, Grease and Ab Fab – definitely pack the Bolly dahling! By all means if you feel the need to come as something from Alien that will be encouraged too!

August 17-20 brings along another quartet of class acts with La La Land, Clueless, Hunt for the Wilderpeople and North by Northwest on offer. La La Land was the awards juggernaut which left a lump in the throat and a skip in the step of the 10,000 people who came to see it at the beginning of the year.

Clueless has become a cult classic paving the way for many of today's modern interpretations of Shakespeare along with the bevvy of 'teen movies' that have dominated our screens and brought us some of our biggest stars.

Hunt for the Wilderpeople was a word of mouth sensation from the festival circuit which, featuring a lot of first time talent along with some cinematic stalwarts, is a comedy both poignant and intelligent and one not to be missed.

If you like a classic look no further than North by Northwest, a case of mistaken identity leads to some of the most recognisable scenes in cinematic history.

What could be better than a glass of something cold and refreshing whilst lounging in a deck chair watching one of your favourite films with a group of friends in these amazing surroundings – well we don't think that can be beaten and we're really looking forward to bringing some contemporary, cult and stone-cold classics to the incredibly big, inflatable, silver screen.

There's a fully-licensed bar on site to keep you suitably hydrated throughout the evening, we'll also have a selection of small plates on offer from our highly-recommended restaurant, The Dining Rooms, should you fancy a nibble but also feel free to bring along a picnic. We'll have a limited supply of blankets, cushions and deckchairs on offer to make sure you pass the evening in cinematic comfort.

We look forward to seeing you all there, it is such a fun event to work at, to welcome you all to the amazing surrounds of The Plantation Gardens whilst being able to show a screen gem is definitely a perk of the job.
