Nursery school children have been enjoying the chance to get arty making their own bird masks.

Children from the Polliwiggle Nursery based in Newmarket Road, Norwich, paid a visit to Norwich Castle Museum, for an arts and craft session.

Under the museum's supervision, the girls showed off their creative side, making owl masks.

Natalie Stone, head of the nursery, said: “We were allowed to touch animals from the Norfolk Wildlife collection that were nocturnal including owls, badgers, rats and foxes.

“The museum staff showed us how to pretend to be owls silently flying at night and swooping down to catch mice and worms and we then made owl head bands and wore them round the museum.

“We had a wonderful morning and are very grateful to all the museum staff involved.”
