Follow the cobbled paths along Elm Hill, and lose yourself for a while in Mandell's Gallery - smack bang in the heart of Norwich's Cathedral Quarter.
The gallery has just opened its latest show, March Collection, combining a number of disciplines, from sculpture and painting, and featuring the works of Susan Brown, John Burman, Neal French and John Newland.
Susan Brown creates bold and lively paintings, handling her subjects "spontaneously", says Rachel Allen, curator at Mandell's. She has exhibited internationally, including the RA Summer Exhibition.

Ipswich-born painter John Burman is inspired by the East Anglian landscape, "searching for union and communication with nature so that nature is the object of painting rather than depicting it", Rachel adds.

Sculptor Neal French explores human interaction within his work, working in a range of scales.

And the East Anglian landscape is also inspiration to John Newland. Born in Norwich and a graduate of Norwich Art School, he later worked for Jarrold Printing. Rachel says: "John Newland’s work conveys an immediacy or spontaneity of technique but far from it, for most of his marks and workings are pondered and considered."
