Wroxham's second string hit back for derby point

Wroxham manager David Batch gave his FA Vase heroes a rest in last night's Ridgeons League derby - but the players who came in did the club proud.

The 11 players who started Sunday's memorable 2-0 victory at Whitehawk in the Vase semi-final, first leg sat out the game, with a mixture of weekend substitutes and reserves making up the Yachtsmen's team.

The new-look side struggled early on and were 2-0 down after 31 minutes but they hit back to grab a point at Plantation Park.

United went ahead after 14 minutes when Leighton Miller brought down Andrew Claydon in the box and Lee Hunter converted from the spot.

Claydon then made it two from close range after a Darren Coe header had come back off the crossbar but Wroxham hit back four minutes later when Ross Durrant turned in a cross from Josh Carus.

They completed the comeback six minutes after the break, Owen Paynter converting after a goalmouth scramble.
