Talented teenager Giarrni Regini-Moran has vaulted his way to the top again.
The Waveney Gymnastics Club member helped represent Great Britain at an international competition in Austria.
After taking the silver medal at the 2010 British Championships Regini-Moran, who is coached by the club’s Pete Etherington, received the call-up to compete for Team GB at the Future Cup Competition in Linz, Austria last month.
Regini-Moran was accompanied by Under-12 British champion Hamish Carter of Notts School of Gymnastics, James Hall of Pegasus GC and William Trood of Hinkley GC to make up the GB team.
In a tough competition, against some of the best young gymnasts in the world, Regini-Moran performed fantastically to finish eighth in the Under-14 event with a score of 71.70. This was boosted by 13.45 for his floor exercise, leaving him first overall on the apparatus.
These results helped Team GB take overall victory in the competition, beating the Japanese team by almost five marks.
“This was a superb performance at his first international competition,” said Vikki Rogers, centre manager at Waveney Gymnastics Club.
