A pair of sharp shooting strikers from Lowestoft could have fired their way into the record books with a remarkable goalscoring feat.

Teenage hot-shots Natasha Thomas and Laurie Teicher made it another memorable weekend for the successful Waveney Girls Under-15A team as their goals helped the side reach the Suffolk Girls League Cup semi-final with an 8-1 away win over Copleston SC.

But in the process of completing the victory, it proved to be a landmark occasion for the youngsters as the lethal strikeforce hit the 500th goal between them - in just 82 games.

Thomas' four goals on Sunday took her tally to an incredible 255 in 73 games, while Teicher completed her own personal milestone by making it an equally spectacular 250 in 82 games, with a brace at the weekend.

The youngsters' stunning goalscoring exploits have added to the team's amazing unbeaten sequence in the countywide league and cup competitions - which now stretches back five years.

Last season the team won the Suffolk Girls Football League title for the fourth successive season in convincing style. They also won the Tesco County Cup and reached the central England regional final in Birmingham, while completing another Suffolk league and cup double with victory in the Suffolk Girls League Cup.

And they are in line to make it another double-winning campaign this season as they sit nine points clear of the teams in second and third, with 122 goals scored in 10 winning league games, which have also seen them concede a miserly four goals.

Already this season Teciher has weighed in with six double hat-tricks, including 10 in one game and nine in another, while Thomas has four double hat-tricks and a season high seven goals in one win.

Their overall season record has seen Teicher hit 51 goals in 11 games, while Thomas has fired 53 goals in 11 games - making it a strike partnership to be feared across the country.

And with the goalscoring exploits of Kelly Smith at national level echoing England strike partnerships such as the likes of the deadly SAS combination of Alan Shearer and Chris Sutton, T and T (Thomas and Teicher) have proved to be just dynamite.

Waveney Girls would like to thank their kit sponsor Anglia Fish Supplies for their support, with the 8-1 win over Copleston SC setting up a semi-final away at Debenham LC or Acton next month.
