City boss Glenn Roeder has angrily dismissed reports linking assistant manager Lee Clark to the managerial vacancy at Huddersfield Town.
One national newspaper claimed the 36-year-old Clark, who was linked with Carlisle last month, had been interviewed for the job twice at the League Two club after Stan Ternent's exit.
But Roeder said yesterday: “Reports over the weekend and on Monday morning suggesting that my assistant manager Lee Clark is about to join Huddersfield as their new manager are totally unfounded and untrue.
“How these irritating stories start I do not know. I have a very good relationship with Lee. If he was about to join any other club I would know a long time before it got into the media. This is just wild speculation and it's very unhelpful.”
Roeder told the club's official website: “Lee is fully committed to myself and Norwich City, like all the rest of the backroom staff here. I have assembled the best backroom staff I have ever had and we all know that we need to improve results - but that will be done with the help of the players, staff and everybody at the club, and I stress everybody, pulling in the right direction.
“We are facing our most important match of the season against Ipswich, a game I can assure our supporters everybody at Colney and Carrow Road is working very hard to prepare for and looking forward to greatly.”
