The bad weather continued to take a grip on local sport ahead of the weekend.

King’s Lynn Town’s scheduled Southern Premier Division fixture at home to Basingstoke Town is off, with The Walks under a blanket of snow.

The decision was made on Friday morning with a prediction of further snow and freezing temperatures over the next 48 hours.

The match has been provisionally rearranged for Tuesday March 27 (7.45pm).

Lowestoft Town’s scheduled home game against Wingate & Finchley in the Bostik Premier bit the dust on Friday, as did Dereham Town’s home game against Maldon & Tiptree in the Bostik North Division.

Norwich United’s trek to Canvey Island was called off soon after lunchtime.

All matches in the Thurlow Nunn, Anglian Combination and Norwich Sunday leagues as well as the Lowestoft and District League were scrapped before the weekend. They were later joined by the Norfolk Women’s and Girls’ Football League.
