Harvey-Cooper strike earns Kirkley the points against Great Yarmouth

A goal by Liam Harvey-Cooper was enough to earn Kirkley & Pakefield all three points in their east coast clash against Great Yarmouth Town.
Harvey-Cooper struck in the 25th minute of the only game played on Good Friday after Gorleston’s home match against Wroxham last night was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.
Mid-table Thetford Town lead the local challenges on Saturday when they take on Brantham Athletic. Danny White’s Brecklanders go into the game unbeaten in four games which has seen them earn a place in the League Cup final and, last weekend, win at Histon, which is no mean feat.
Fakenham have a trip to Haverhill Borough, although the Ghosts’ thoughts this week have been with new signing Kegan Charlesworth following the early abandonment of Tuesday night’s home clash with Premier Division leaders Felixstowe and Walton.
Charlesworth suffered a dislocated ankle just 10 minutes into the game.
With the player receiving lengthy treatment on the pitch, the referee, after discussion with both managers and officials from the respective clubs, decided to abandon the match.
In the First Division, Swaffham Town face a trip to mid-table Leiston.
The Pedlars dropped precious points in a 2-1 defeat at Halstead a week ago and will need to get their shooting boots back on if they are to return with the points.
Swaffham are fourth in the table, two points ahead of King’s Lynn Town Reserves, who entertain the team immediately below them in the table, Debenham, LC. The Linnets have an eight-point advantage, although their visitors have two games in hand.
Norwich CBS are eighth, and will be hoping the Linnets do them a favour – they’re one point behind Debenham, and a home win over Woodbridge could see them jump up a place.
It won’t be easy though - the visitors to the FDC are top of the table and have lost just once this season.
Downham Town host Framlingham Town, who are third while Diss face the team immediately above them, Holland FC, at Brewers Green Lane. Norwich United are at Halstead Town.
