King’s Lynn Town face rivals Kettering Town on Tuesday night looking to erase the memory of their open day defeat.
The Linnets were on the wrong end of a 4-2 scoreline against Biggleswade at the weekend, conceding three goals in the last 20 minutes.
However, both Lynn and Kettering will remain among the favourites for promotion, having come close last season when Lynn lost in the play-off final to Slough, who beat the Poppies in the semis.
Lynn boss Simon Clark is expected to pitch new signing Kalern Thomas into the fray against the club he left in the summer. Clark has no injury concerns from the weekend, but made be tempted to make changes after a bruising defeat.
Kettering’s season began with a 1-0 victory at Hitchin Town, Rhys Hoenes getting the goal. Poppies boss Marcus Law has made several summer signings, while from last season he has lost strikers Rene Howe, now with Hendon, and Mathew Stevens, who returned to Peterborough after his loan.
