UEA City of Norwich Swimming Club took a healthy sized contingent north to Harrogate's Hydro Pool for the town's 28th open age group swimming meet.

The club had 29 children aged from 10 to 14 taking part in an event that is an ideal opportunity for Norwich swimmers to compete against a selection of top national rivals from the north of the country - as well as in preparation for the forthcoming UEA City of Norwich Easter long course meet.

The club did the city proud with some outstanding swims and many personal best times. Out of the 46 events up for grabs, Norwich came away with 21 golds, 15 silvers and 18 bronze finishes - a total of 54 medals.

City of Norwich also took top boy and girl awards, which were handed to Lillyella Craw-Seaman for the 10-year-old girls, Casey Barrett for the 10-year-old boys and Jack Thompson for the 12-year-old boys.

The results were excellent ahead of the Easter meet, which is an important part of Norwich's calendar and attracts more than 300 swimmers from all over the country and as far afield as Dubai.

New swimmers are always welcome at the club. For more information on events and courses at UEA City of Norwich, visit ueacityofnorwichsc.co.uk
