Matches do not come much bigger than England’s clash with Croatia in Russia – a first World Cup semi-final for the three lions in more than 20 years.

And one venue looking to make the most of England’s big match action on Wednesday night is
Epic Studios in Norwich which will be showing the national team’s fortunes play out on
three big screens.

The Magdalen Street venue, which will be opening its doors
to World Cup fans for the first time for the semi-final, has
three massive screens and an
LED wall to capture every
inch – and angle – of the excitement.

The venue’s largest LED screen is 10m by 4m, the equivalent of
a 423 inch TV, while it also has 6.8m by 3.2m (295 inch) and 3.6m by 2.1m (165inch) screens. It means there will be no excuse
for anyone to miss a moment of the historic match as it unfolds in the 16m long bar.

Kris McCarthy, operations manager, said: “We know when the team gets that far a lot of people that aren’t as interested in it get interested and get caught up in the atmosphere.”

He said it was for those people that they had decided to throw open the doors to give people somewhere different to watch the match.

“There’s a lot of rubber necking in pubs to see a small screen but it’s the atmosphere they go for so we want to give them the atmosphere and big screen experience.”

The venue also has a big 16m long screen which it will put messages on during the match like “Its Coming Home”.

Mr McCarthy added: “It’s a chance for us to show off some of our big screens.”

About 350 people have so far contacted Epic to say they will be coming but there is thought to be room for between 800 and 1000 at the venue which will also have 100 seats available.

He said: “It’s all set for a good night.”

Meanwhile, the Birdcage in Pottergate, Norwich, will also be screening the match after transforming the space in its ballroom into a pop-up cinema.
