A family business is celebrating after securing a prestigious contract to supply catering equipment for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Norwich-based Ideal Catering Solutions has won a 100,000 contract to supply catering equipment for the Olympic Village at Stratford.

It is a massive coup for the Hellesdon firm which was set up just six years ago.

Iain Addison, 43, who lives in Wymondham and runs the Reepham Road business with his partner Kim Devlin, said: 'It's huge. Not only is it good profit but also it's the notoriety - the knock on effect could be immense.'

Ideal Catering Solutions, which is run by Mr Addison and a team of just three other people, will supply stainless steel extraction canopies for kitchens in the Olympic Village.

It is the biggest contract the company has won to date. Other catering projects have been carried out at Lynn Grove High School in Gorleston, Aylsham Community Centre and Norwich Family Golf Centre. The company has also recently won the catering contract for Vauxhall Holiday Park in Great Yarmouth and has installed catering equipment nationwide.

They use Norfolk manufacturers for the fabrication of all their products.

Ideal Catering Solutions has joined a growing list of Norfolk firms which have won contracts for the Olympic Games.

EventGuard, a subsidiary of Norfolk County Council-owned Norse, was awarded a contract to provide security at park-and-ride facilities for the Olympic Games.

Diss-based coach firm Simonds of Botesdale secured a contract to supply transport services for the Games and Fakenham Laundry landed a contract to wash all the clothes of staff working on the 70-day Olympic Torch Relay.
