Neil Warnock lamented the 'soft goals' he felt cost his Queens Park Rangers side victory at Carrow Road.

The Rangers boss argued that they were the better team but had only themselves to blame for poor defending at crucial moments.

'It's strange, both managers thinking they should have won the game,' he said. 'I'm disappointed, really, I have to say. At half-time I said to the lads I'd be disappointed to come away with a point. I wanted to win the game. Nothing that I've seen in the second half changes my mind. I thought we had enough opportunities to win the game all ends up, but it was not to be.

'I feel like I've been robbed but if you can't defend better than the two goals, you don't deserve to win.'

Acting captain Anton Ferdinand was at fault as Russell Martin gave City a 15th-minute lead.

'I thought the first 15 minutes he was a little bit apprehensive, cost us the goal and I thought that just knocked him. I was quite pleased how he came back after that. I thought that's as quiet as I've seen Steve Morison for a while, so it's just disappointing,' said Warnock.

Luke Young equalised, his second goal in successive games, only for substitute Grant Holt to score the winner for City.

'I suppose if you've scored it you're absolutely delighted. When you look at the goal tonight on the TV, it will make it even worse. We should have cleared it on at least five occasions. When you want points and you've got to be hungry for points, it's disappointing for me that we haven't cleared that,' said Warnock.

'They were soft goals. That was what disappointed me. They were goals you could see anywhere in England, really, not in the Premier League.

'They haven't really had to work for the goals. They've really been silly goals. I don't think it's easy to take when I believe we should have won the game.'

Warnock blasted the Premier League for refusing him permission to sign a goalkeeper on an emergency loan. With Paddy Kenny (side strain) and Brian Murphy (calf) sidelined, Radek Cerny had to make his first appearance of the season despite a long-running injury problem. Rangers had to recall 20-year-old Elvijs Putnins from a loan spell with non-league Boreham Wood to sit on the bench.

'If not, we'd have had to play a 17-year-old, who's never played a reserve match yet, which I think is absolutely scandalous if I'm honest,' said Warnock.
