Norwich City transfer rumours: Benfica change mind over offloading forward

Reported January target Chris Willock could be available to Norwich City this summer – if they can broker a deal with Benfica.
According to Portuguese sportspaper A Bola, the Canaries along with QPR, West Brom and Hull all wanted to bring Willock to England on loan in January - but Benfica turned down their advances.
However, four months on and the Primeira Liga giants have reportedly changed their minds - although they are said to want a decent sell-on clause from any move.
The former Arsenal youngster made his senior debut in the League Cup back in September 2016 for the Gunners, before switching to Portugal in 2017 with signing a five-year deal - but Willock has not made a senior appearance for the Eagles.
The 21-year-old forward made 59 appearances for Benfica's B side, scoring 14 goals and is capped up to England Under-20 level.
Willock's older brother Matty is currently on Manchester United's books, while younger brother Joe is still held in high esteem at the Gunners.
The number of clubs linked and Benfica's apparent desire to offload the front man raises question marks. However, if the price is right then Norwich may opt to take the gamble and see how Willock settles into the Under-23s before pushing him on.
