Teemu Pukki knows the best support possible awaits Norwich City at Carrow Road, as they sit on the brink of the Premier League.
The Canaries’ 2-2 Easter Monday draw at Stoke left a nervous air – until three hours later, when Leeds’ 2-0 defeat at Brentford took a potentially anxious finish and turned it into a Carrow Road invite for a promotion party.
The equation for Daniel Farke’s men is now as straight forward as they come: avoid defeat at home to Blackburn on Saturday night and Norwich City will be playing Premier League football again next season.
And although speaking in the vacuum between City’s 12th game unbeaten and Leeds’ defeat, Pukki’s sentiments stood the test of time – much like his 28th Championship goal of the campaign.
“We have been the best team this season so far, so we just need to finish it like the best team and start getting some more points,” said Pukki, with Norwich now just three points clear of Sheffield United in second.
“We are still number one and everything is in our hands. We just need to get winning again – there have been too many draws.
“Why is it so hard? It’s hard to say. For everyone it’s not so easy. But now we just need to forget this game, take the positive bits and then we have a big game on Saturday at home with all our fans, and it’s time to step up and get the win.
“We are still number one with the last home game of the season. We will get the best support possible from our fans, so it will be a nice game.”

City led Stoke twice before being pegged back, while a fourth successive defeat was not doing much for the health of the club’s supporters.
But the mood will now be significantly different come the weekend – and the Championship’s leading scorer cannot wait.
“This means everything to us,” said Pukki. “It’s been a big, long season and there’s not much to go – so of course we really want to win these games.
“We just need to forget this one. We can be sad today – but then tomorrow is a new day and we can turn our minds to Blackburn.”
The Blades host relegated Ipswich from 5.15pm on Saturday, before City welcome Rovers (7.30pm). Leeds then host Aston Villa on Sunday (12pm).
