Teemu Pukki is confident the Premier League challenge won’t change Norwich City’s humble and hard-working ethos.

The Canaries have one more Championship task to complete at Aston Villa on Sunday, after which they can start to dream of what awaits next season.

And Pukki – a Finland hero who has played for Schalke, Brondby, Sevilla and Celtic – has the experience to ensure he won’t be overawed when the top-flight arrives.

“I can’t see there are any guys who would in our team, become arrogant or anything,” said Pukki.

“I think this team is full of humble guys who really want to work together and do their job. So I can’t see it being any problem for us.

“Obviously there won’t be so many chances and there will be less time because the quality is better in the Premier League. So we just need to be prepared to be even more decisive in those moments we get, because there won’t be so many of them.

“For sure I’ve been around and of course, I got some experiences at other clubs that taught me to be how I am now, and to be as good as I’ve been here I need to thank all the coaches I’ve had before and those I’ve got now.

“And for example, I know how it works in the Bundesliga and other places, so I know already the level will be high.

“I haven’t really had time to think about what is coming next season yet but of course, it will be a really big challenge. The level in the Premier League will better than the Championship – I don’t know by how much – but I believe in myself and we will see next season; I believe I can do well there as well.”

There will still be plenty of time to think about what is ahead – but for a 28-goal campaign that is the best for any Norwich striker in the top two tiers of English football, Pukki’s name and efforts will stand the test of time.

“I will always be a team player but that is something when I finish my career, I will always remember,” added Pukki.

“I’ve liked it so much, probably even after my career I will come here and watch some games. So it will be nice to be remembered for doing something great – but it’s not just me. It’s the whole team this season, being so amazing.

“And we will all be remembered as a really good team.”
