Stuart Webber admitted his relief as Norwich City "climbed Everest" to earn their Premier League return.

A 2-1 win at home to Blackburn sealed the deal – the first time City have been promoted from any division at Carrow Road in 60 years, and to the exact day since the last time.

“Everyone says it's the hardest league in the world to get out of – promoted, maybe it's easier to get relegated,” said Webber.

“It's about trying to enjoy it, about the players, Daniel (Farke), the fans. This is what football is about, nights like this.

“I feel like we've climbed Everest and we've got to the summit. We've got to try to get back down it now and then climb it again.

“So it's not going to be easy (next season) but it would be boring if it was. We'll enjoy this and what comes over the next few weeks – and then really get our heads into pushing on with a plan for next season.”

Webber added: “If it was easy to cross the line and get promoted, everyone would do it. It's hard and it should be a struggle because to achieve anything in life worth having, should be difficult.

“It's been an interesting few weeks but I think we've learned a lot from it and if I look at our young team, young staff, everyone will be stronger for this experience and they will have learned a lot from it. It will stand everyone in good stead for the future, which is great.”
