Arsenal are the latest Premier League club to be thrown into the mix for Norwich City star James Maddison's signature this summer, alongside most of the top flight.
The Telegraph have added their take to the impending transfer saga, claiming the Gunners are one of six clubs hoping to sign the Canaries playmaker.
They claim Manchester City, Tottenham, Everton, Southampton and Brighton all have the Coventry City academy product on their shopping lists, quoting a value of around £25m.
National newspapers have been filling column inches with stories about Maddison’s future for months now with other clubs previous mentioned including: Liverpool, Manchester United, Leicester, West Ham, Huddersfield and Bournemouth.
That follows a fantastic breakthrough season for the 21-year-old, with 15 goals and 11 assists to his name from 46 games in all competitions, earning him England Under-21 international recognition in the process.
Maddison has also today been named in the Professional Footballers’ Association Championship Team of the Season, to add to his inclusion in the EFL Team of the Season and nomination for the Young Player of the Season at the EFL Awards, as well as a host of monthly award nominations and wins throughout the campaign.
The summer transfer window does not officially open until June 9 and with the World Cup starting five days later, it remains to be seen whether Maddison’s future will be sorted quickly.
However, new FA rules mean top-flight clubs must complete their purchases before the first Premier League games of next season, by 5pm on Thursday, August 9.
